Meet Leah Calder
I’m Leah Calder, a Dermatology Physician Assistant with 20 years of experience in the field. Originally from Flowood, I earned my Bachelor of Science degree in Exercise Physiology from Delta State University. Following this, I pursued my Master of Medical Science in Physician Assistant studies at Emory University in Atlanta, GA. I am also certified by the NCCPA.
My career began with a board-certified dermatologist and Mohs surgeon in Atlanta, where I specialized in general dermatology with a focus on dermatologic surgery for five years. Upon returning to Flowood, I joined Belle Meade Dermatology, working alongside board-certified dermatologists Dr. Miriam Shatley and Dr. Anna Asher for over 14 years. At Belle Meade, I specialized in general, cosmetic, and surgical Dermatology.
Beyond my clinical work, I’ve served as President of the Mississippi Academy of Physician Assistants and remain an advocate for PAs in Mississippi. Additionally, I’ve had the privilege of being an adjunct faculty member in the PA program at Mississippi College and mentoring PA students in my current practice.
